Summary

Axe Tuner does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. The app has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. Tuning happens entirely on your device. The only network access the app makes is to Google Play, to handle purchases and to check whether you have bought the app.

Microphone

Axe Tuner needs microphone access to work as a tuner. When you use the "Listen & Tune" feature, the app reads audio from your device's microphone and analyses it in real time to estimate the pitch of the note you are playing.

Audio is processed entirely on your device, in memory.
Audio is never recorded to a file, saved, transmitted, or shared.
Audio is discarded immediately after each fragment is analysed.
The microphone is only active while you are on the "Listen & Tune" screen and have started listening. It is released as soon as you stop or leave.

You can revoke microphone access at any time in your device's Settings. The tone-generator features of the app will continue to work without it.

Purchases

Axe Tuner is free to use for 14 days. After that it asks you to buy it, either once or as a yearly subscription. Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play using the Google Play Billing service.

The app asks Google Play what the products cost in your currency, and whether you already own them. This is why it requests internet access.
Payment is taken by Google, in Google's own purchase dialog. Your payment details are never seen by, entered into, or stored by this app or its developer.
What the app keeps on your device is a simple record of whether you are entitled to use it, and the date you first launched it so the trial can be measured. Neither is personal information and neither is sent anywhere.
Google's handling of your purchase is governed by Google's own privacy policy, not this one.

If you never buy the app, it still contacts Google Play to look up prices and confirm you have not already purchased.

Settings stored on your device

Axe Tuner saves your preferences — such as your reference pitch (A4), selected temperament, any custom temperaments you create, and waveform choice — in your device's local storage. This information stays on your device, is not personal information, and is not transmitted anywhere. Deleting the app removes it.

Data collection

We do not collect any data. Specifically, Axe Tuner does not collect:

Personal or contact information
Location data
Usage or analytics data
Device identifiers
Audio recordings
Payment or financial information
Any other category of data

Because no data is collected, no data is sold, shared with third parties, or used for advertising or tracking. Purchase records are held by Google as part of processing the sale; the developer receives only the aggregate sales reporting that Google Play provides to every developer, which does not identify you.

Children

Axe Tuner is safe for users of all ages. Since the app collects no data at all, it collects no data from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address and the effective date above will be revised.
